Chroniclers!
Welcome to the first day of Countdown to Christmas!
Can you believe there are only 12 more days before Christmas Day!!!!
I am so excited for this Christmas season. Okay, so I’m excited for every Christmas season! I just love Christmas.
Evident by the amount of times I’ve already said “Christmas” so far 😅.
I love how everyone is just a little nicer, and the sun shines just a little brighter, and the air feels just a little crisper! You get the idea, everything is better at christmas time. I mean what’s not to love. Christmas decorations, caroling, christmas cookies (yummmmm)! And don’t even get me started on the joys of cuddling up with a special blanket and a cup of candycane, hot chocolate getting ready to watch a great christmas movie!!
You can’t go through December without watching Christmas movies! Its just not right. There are classics like Home Alone or How the Grinch Stole Christmas!! But let me not get ahead of myself. On with the list.
If you need a good shot of Christmas Spirit, check out my 10 Best Christmas Movies!
1. How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Two words: Holiday Classic. After many extended cartoon cuts the grinch finally got a full length film in 2000 and I am sooo here for it. I was this movie at least 3 times every Christmas season.
2. Home Alone
If you have never seen this movie…I cant even continue because there is no way you’ve never seen this. Home Alone (the first in the self titled franchise) has to be the most popular christmas movie to date!
This one is my feel good movie. I’ve been watching it every Christmas without fail for the past three years. I love it so much I watch it any day in the year if I feel for some gooey christmas romance. This one is a hallmark movie and I am planning to do a list of those by themselves but I just had to put it here. Don’t be surprised if you see it again.
This movie, maybe even more so the book is probably a household staple at Christmas. The poetic narrations always make me feel like cozying up the the fire with a cup of hot chocolate (too bad I don’t have a fireplace).
Okay so Idris Elba, Chris Brown, Columbus Short….need I say more? 😅
But seriously I love the song numbers in this one and its always nice to see an all black cast.
I can’t say how much I love this movie! I watch it all year round. The story line is so inviting and I love the romances. Give me all the gushy good christmas vibes.
Forever a Classic!! This movie is very nostalgic to me. I was about 8 years old when I watched it the first time. Lots of childlike adventure, keeping the magic of christmas alive.
This movie follows the romances of several couples over the holiday season and shows varying aspects of love in relationships. A nice watch for a cold night.
This is Classic! This movie is a franchise but I always enjoyed the first one most. Seeing Tim Allen try to learn the ropes of being Santa Claus to meet Christmas deadline, priceless!
I admit, this movie has a lot of sensitive topics and may not be everybodies cup of tea. There are somethings that I personally don’t agree with either but it is a really good laugh!
What I love most about this movie is that it teaches us that love is not based on looks and assumptions. But it grows through friendship, companionship and genuine interest in each others lives.
12. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
This movie is comical!! We all know sometimes that when the family gets back together for Christmas things can be a little coocoo. This is a must watch!
As the sequel to the 1999 film, The Best Man, this movie brings good laughs and a whole lot of entertainment. Unlike most others on this list I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this as a family film because of some of the more mature content in it. But, for adults and older teens its a great option
This film is everything wrapped into one. Its funny, filled with family drama, has romance, and very heart warming moments. All the great makings of a timeless Christmas movie.
